For many transport operators and commissioning authorities, Safeguarding (sometimes referred to as ‘Protection’) is a high-profile issue and the wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults is a priority. Making Safeguarding training mandatory under contract terms is straight-forward enough for commissioners but training and contract management standards vary significantly and carefully constructed contract specifications are often not met in practice. We advise customers (both local authorities and operators) on achieving and maintaining best-practice safeguarding standards.
