Mobility as a Service (MaaS)
For many years we been interested in the linkage between communications technology, transport procurement and the means of personal access to services. More recently the concept of MaaS has gained currency as smart phones are routinely used to plan journeys, interlink different modes and order and pay for services in a seamless manner.
MaaS is generally understood as the use of digital technology to seamlessly integrate and enhance public and private transport services through better journey information, integrated ticketing and payment systems which meet the end-to-end journey needs of the customer. Apps are developing rapidly and will significantly affect how transport services are deployed, customers’ perception of value for money, accessibility, demand-responsiveness, safety and well-being. These are common themes in many of our projects and we can, therefore, provide expert advice and evaluation on new technologies and their interface with passenger transport services.
