Park & Ride
Car-related congestion and air quality in our towns and cities is a matter of growing concern. Park and Ride services can be an effective means of achieving voluntary modal change when perceived to be attractive and convenient to use and competitively priced compared with the cost of city centre parking.
We have been assisting local authorities to design and implement Park and Ride schemes for many years. We analyse current city centre parking capacity and charges, the demographics of the area and tourism statistics. We then calculate operating costs and estimate revenues to determine the financial impact of various pricing strategies.
Our work is informed by our extensive database of the characteristics of park and ride services throughout the UK.
In addition, we assist bus operators to bid for Park and Ride contracts, including assessing the viability of bids as a ‘critical friend’.
